Swaddle magic

in Parenting after a Loss
Decided to swaddle DS last nite to help him sleep. Holy crap he slept from about 9 to 4!i!!! I am in shock! He hates the swaddle but mommy LOVES it. I really hope we can make a habit out of this.

    Yay for sleep! L hates the swaddle too, but he sleeps so much better with it.

    Sleep is great! DD hates to be swaddled too. From day 1 she fought it. So I would wait till she was sleepy and then wrap her up. Worked great. Now that she is older she fights it more because she wants to suck on her hands. So lightly swaddle her arms so she can get them out if she wants. Usually its only one arm and she uses it to put herself back to sleep.

    Swaddling DS was how we got him to start STTN!  He rolls from back to belly now though so we had to ditch it and I miss it very much!

    IVF#1=BFP#4 on 8/31/11 EDD 5/12/12 EP discovered and MTX shot given 9/14/ & 9/21 M/C on 10/9/11

    Woohoo!  He will get used to it :)  DD used to hate it at first, but I kept doing it and she eventually would calm down once I started swaddling her.

    Also, I basically did this approach with a receiving blanket and A&A blanket.  It is a miracle!

    Oh yes, they are magic. DD is a week old and will probably STTN at least 5 or 6 hrs but since she's so young I have to wake her at 4 hr intervals to nurse her if she doesn't wake before the alarm. Mommy got about 9 hours of sleep between 11pm and 9:30am today. I feel soooo much better.

    We do something similar to the above.  We also use a receiving blanket and an A&A blanket.  It has been working great.  We use it for all naps and bedtime.

    That is actually the video I was looking for!  I couldn't find it :)  That is exactly what we do :)  Kept her contained until she was 5m :)

    DS hates to be swaddled, I just ordered a woombie. I'm hoping it works. I wish I would have seen that video first. I might have to try it now. If I get 45 hours of sleep ill take it
