changing nipple size

how do i know when to change the bottle nipple size? 

i am using the first stage ones, slow flow or whatever is designed for newborns. LO is 3 months and I just realized that maybe nipple size should be increasing at some point?

I changed when I could hear her making a sucking noise like she was working hard to get the formula out. Almost like a kissing sound.

I think it says on the package the appropriate age for each size. I use Dr. Brown and upped hers at 3 month's since it said to. She eats an extra ounce now since I did that. If you buy it you can tell if your LO is ready for it or not by if they start choking with the new nipple ir not.
