S/O teething (dumb question)

How can you tell if LO is teething? DD has a cold, so I have attributed stuff like runny nose and red cheeks to that, but after reading the post about red cheeks below I'm not sure...? She has also been drooling a lot, but I have tried feeling around in there and don't feel anything.Β

Also, why would teething cause red cheeks?Β

Re: S/O teething (dumb question)

  • Both my boys started chewing on everything and then drooling like crazy. Until the teeth popped through I wasn't able to feel anything however I could see how swollen their gums were and can see/saw white lines in the gums where teeth are slowly pushing through. I have no idea about red cheeks. My boys never went through that.

  • I read about the red cheeks during teething being related to increased blood flow to the gums. Not sure if that is true or not but it makes sense to me.
  • Our Pedi told us that the redness in the cheeks is due to the drooling.
