is vodka sauce ok?

I always thought the alcohol boils off when cooked so thought nothing of it until my coworker said you're pregnant & you're eating pasta with vodka sauce? & Dr. google tells me vodka sauce + pregnancy = bad mommy. Of course I was chowing down already by the time I looked it up because I was so sure I was right - felt so sick to my stomach I couldn't eat anymore. I feel like the worst mommy-to-be ever. How could I be so stupid? Or am I just stupid for believing google? Also does this mean my other favorite food - chicken marsala is off the menu too?

I'm a terribly cook so my pasta sauce always comes from a jar - maybe there's less alcohol content in those?

I am not a doc nor have I ever consulted anyone on this bit of rationale, but in my head, if I don't need to show ID and be 21 to consume it, I'm not worrying about the alcohol content for the baby.

Its fine, I make penne a la vodka almost once a week and I use 3/4 cup of vodka. It simmers with the onions for like 3 or 4 mins so the alcohol cooks off. And then you continue to cook the sauce for like 20 more mins so any trace of alcohol would surely be completely cooked off.

Your coworker is an idiot. With pregnancy, everyone has their opinions, and some people have very uninformed ones. 

The alcohol cooks off. No harm, no foul. And Dr. Google needs to return his medical license.
