Secondary IF

Back from bump break with a ?

Hi Ladies! First of all I've missed you and I'd like to come back after my much needed bump break after our failed IVF cycle last month.

How is everyone?  It's been a hectic month this past month with the holidays and the remodel going on in our kitchen but I loved every minute with DH and DD and we are ready to move forward with IVF #2 in the new year.

Now for my question... I am currently on day 39 of what is normally a 26-28 day cycle. All tests have been BFNs, but this has never happened to me before. With the holidays and everything I'm not exactly in a rush to start our next IVF cycle but I'm so tired of my body throwing a different curve ball every stinking month. Is it possible I ovulated late or not at all this month? When should I call my RE?

Thanks again! Hope everyone had a terrific holiday and wishing everyone a wonderful New Year!

Re: Back from bump break with a ?

  • I am so glad to see you back.  I was wondering how you are.  I just had my third IUI and it was a bust.  :( we will move onto IVF.

I am glad the remodel went well and the holidays.  I hope the new year is good for us both!  Hugs!

  • I don't have a specific answer as to what's causing the delay, but I do know the answer on how to "fix" it.

My PP periods were really long, and we needed to start IVF #2 ASAP, so the RE gave me prometrium to kick start my period once it got to over 40 days.  It happened twice, but the first time AF showed up right as I got my prescription filled.

I'm not sure how far PP you are, but it might be somehow related to that, otherwise, not quite sure what's going on.

  • Good luck in IVF #2 and boo to longer cycles. It's possible you O'd later than usual.  I've heard generally that you should call if your cycles are 60 days and you get BFNs--you cang et an Rx to restart your cycle.

I'm so sorry you have to move to IVF too :( It will be nice to have someone to talk to again this cycle though.

I missed all of you too but it was nice to try and forget about IF for a month and focus on my family. It was really starting to wear on me and I think the break was just what I needed.  Now I'm ready to jump back in and move forward with IVF #2.

Thank you!  This was definitely a change and has never happened before but thankfully today, on day 40, I finally started. Now just hoping I can move forward with IVF #2 ASAP :)

Thank you!  I've never had to deal with long cycles before so this definitely did a number on me. One more thing to question and wonder about.

IUI #2 was our lucky cycle with DD so I'm hoping that IVF #2 will be our lucky number again.  Here's hoping the new year brings BFPs for all of us!
