DD is turning 2 next month, and we're having a party for her. I'm a little unsure of what we should do as far as activities/games. Most of the guests will be between 2 and 3, but there will be a couple kids there in the 4-6 age range. Any ideas? I know the younger kids aren't ready to grasp the concept of true party games, but I don't want the older kids to be totally bored. TIA!
Re: Activities for a 2 year old bday party?
My friend did a great party for her 3 year old. Cinderella. They did tape the lips on the frog, decorated precut crowns, they did story time, then a dance where if the music stopped everyone had to stop. The person who stopped was given a pumpkin but in the end all got pumpkins. The kids then decorated them too. They had cakepops that were almost mess free. My 20 month old had a great time. Everyone came dressed in prince or princess and the kids dad even came out during story time in a dragon outfit. The girls were sent to a castle they had made and the boys were given swords to slay the dragon. The age range was 1-6 and all seemed to have fun.
I'm going to have crayons and paper out at my kiddo's 2nd birthday party next month and maybe some props for a photo booth, but that's it. Most of our guests will be 18 - 24 months so I don't think they'll be old enough for structured activities.
Maybe do cookie or cupcake decorating? Kids of any age should love that.
haha I was going to say water table, sand table, etc.
but I realized that I live in So. FL and you live in NY and I bet it would be a little cold for those things lol
