Who is back at work next week?

 

I guess I already have been back to work but since I knew I was quitting it didn't hit me that hard. I am not looking forward to the stress of a new job plus having DD in daycare starting January 7. I was digging the temporary SAHD arrangement while my husband is on leave and am unsure how we will balance everything on work days, but I guess plenty have come before me and managed, and we will too.

I am the 14th with a new position and my H is going to be a SAHD

I go back Thursday. I cut back to part time so I don't think it should be so bad. I will be sad leaving ds but it will be nice making money again.

I go back Wednesday. I thought I would be ok because I am really looking forward to working again, but we visited K's daycare today and I had to pull over while driving home because I was crying so hard.

 I am with you. We visited her daycare twice in the past week and it is hard to think of her there. I want to work because it is part of my identity and I like the options it gives us financially, but it seems so sterile even though I know we have chosen a great center.

I am putting 50/50 odds on whether I break down and get a nanny within the next 3 months.

I still have until the 31st of Jan before I have to go back but I am already dreading it. I am really worried about balancing all of the evening duties and having quality time with both of the girls.

I go back Monday. I'm really sad bc DD turns 2 on Tuesday. I'm only going back part time though. It will be hard at first but we'll find our new normal.

It's funny you say this, I started sort of looking today.  I did some research before but decided pretty early on that we were going to go with a center, but actually imagining K there makes me re-think that decision.  We would have to cut some things from our budget, but I'm definitely considering it depending on how daycare goes.

It ALMOST makes me want to have 2 close together so I can justify the cost.

True, a nanny for two kids is much more cost effective. Or you could move to Seattle and we could nannyshare. I might wind up going on those damn proboards looking for a nanny share, actually.

I know that there is an active market there for nanny sharing. Unlike in the Midwest

I also go back the 7th as a per diem employee so I get to pick my schedule but it still makes be sad . Elie is going to our old neighbor's house. She has a 1 year old and a 3 year old and is great with her own kids. She is really excited to watch her and I know she is in good hands but I still don't want to leave her.

I've been back since Dec. 17th. It's only part time though, which is nice. DH works nights so he watches the kiddos while I'm gone. Works out well for us.
