Anterior placenta ladies

At my 12 week NT scan I was told I have an anterior placenta and it is currently really low, covering my cervix. They think this is why I have been spotting and passing blood clots. Right now I am on pelvic rest and no exercise until my 20 week ultrasound. They think it will migrate up.

Has anyone else had any experience with a low lying anterior placenta and care to share? Did you consistently spot? Also, when did you start to feel movement? I felt flutters at 16 weeks with DD and movement by 19 weeks. I know this will take longer with the position of the placenta.

Thanks!

Mine is not low-lying, but I do have an AP. I haven't had any spotting since 7 weeks. I started feeling flutters around 18 or 19 weeks, and now at almost 22 weeks I'm feeling frequent movement but it still isn't very strong. I have only felt it from the outside a handful of times and neither DH or my mom have felt it from the outside yet.

I have an anterior placenta too. Mine wasn't low lying so didn't have any spotting, so I have no advice there, but I can tell you that I didn't really feel movement until 20 weeks....and then there were no "flutters" it was more like "thumps"!

This almost verbatim. I'm pretty sure I felt something this past Monday and more certain of movement on Tuesday (three thumps).  It's very light and infrequent still (so much so that I often doubt what I'm feeling) but am excited to feel anything.

I also have an anterior placenta but it is not low lying. However, I have had spotting on & off throughout my pregnancy. There seems to be no explanation for the spotting. I first felt LO at 19w. I may have been feeling him prior but was looking for that flutter sensation which I never felt. I would say it felt more like muscle spasms. I am now feeling him off & on throughout the day but have not yet felt an outside kick.

I can't speak for the low-lying placenta, but mine is anterior (or at least it was at 16 weeks). I never felt flutters with any of my pregnancies, just kicks. I felt DD1 at 16 weeks, DD2 at 15 weeks, and this baby at 18 weeks.

I have an anterior placenta, and had a low lying placenta, but it wasn't low enough to cover my cervix, so I didn't have any spotting.  The low lying placenta was discovered at 19 weeks, and I wasn't given any restrictions, but they had me come back at 25 weeks to make sure it had moved, and it had so I have no further issues with my placenta.  Due to the anterior placenta, I didn't feel movement until 20 weeks, and like PPs said, I never felt flutters but it went straight to feeling thumps.
