Middle names for Ava

We are most likely going with Ava for our little girl. I think we are going to use Elaine (my grandmother's name) for the middle name. I love how it looks written out, and I almost always love how it sounds. Every once in a while, I start to think that it sounds too old. I would love some opinions.

 Also, as long as the middle name starts with "L" or "E" it would still be after my grandmother, so any other ideas would be appreciated!

Ava Elaine flows well.  I have this thing about not loving both the first and middle names to start with a vowel.  I am not sure why.

How about Ava Lauren?

I do like Ava Lauren, but out last name ends in -en and I find that first/middle names ending in -en don't sound quite right.

For me, meaning trumps flow for middle names, so I'd stick with Elaine.

I feel like this is a bit of a stretch. I'd stick with Ava Elaine. It's a lovely name.

I agree! I am 99% sure we are going Ava Marie even though it sounds a bit like the song. But Marie would be a forth generation middle name so I want to use it.
