so, it's a rough time right now. babies are needy, sleeping like crap and fussy.
however, dd has also changed completely and developed a bunch of new skills and behaviors seemingly overnight.
my favorite new thing that she is doing is when she's laying down or sitting in her chair and i walk up to her she clearly and strongly puts both her arms in the air to reach up for me. like, "pick me up, Mommy! i love you!" she did this to dh too and it melted my heart.
have you noticed a rush of new development? what's been your favorite thing?

Re: the awesomeness of the most recent wonder week
He's all about touching my face now and laughing...like it's funny that I have teeth and a nose. Sometimes he falls asleep with his hand on my cheek and it just melts my heart.
SCANDAL!
Howell likes to touch faces when people lean in close. He also yells at his toys if they don't cooperate. He started crying last night when I took the washcloth out of his hand at the end of his bath. He never has shown an opinion on that matter.
Oh my favorite is he knows the punchline of some of our song games. I sing a lot of my old circle time songs to him that involve jumping, standing and sitting. He starts moving his body for me to lift him up at the standing and jumping parts.
He also likes to touch the books and pull on the pages.
Thanks for posting this. I needed a reminder of how awesome being a mom is.
DD has started blowing raspberries, and it's hilarious. She wakes up in the morning and just starts talking to herself and making funny mouth sounds.
She's also really into toys that make noise when you push a button. She will sit there and just whack it over and over. It's so cute to watch her discover new things.
DD has figured out how to take the pacifier out of her mouth but has not yet mastered putting it back in. She has her mouth wide open while trying soooo hard to get the paci back in. It's hysterical to watch. The few times she has been able to get it back in her mouth she gets this huge smile... Its like she's proud of her accomplishment.
She's also holding her bottle while she eats.. pretty soon she'll be able to feed herself. Literally.
