There are tons of lists of what you should pack for the hospital but I can't find any lists for what to pack for a birth center delivery. Is it the same? Should I pack a hospital bag just in case? Maybe I'm over thinking this?
I feel like you need to pack more things. The birth center I delivered at didn't have all the freebies that I've heard hospitals do.
Pack clothes for you to wear during labor, maybe a robe, bathing suit top if you're going to be in the tub and don't want to be naked, a few changes of underwear, toothbrush and other toiletries, clothes for baby, diapers, pacifier, bottles and formula (if you plan on going that route)
You might ask your MW if she has a list for you. Mine gave me a list of items that I should bring and a list of items that are nice to have. Here are a few of the things on the list:
For labor and Birth: Paper Towels, Super Maxi Pads, Ibuprofen, Comfy clothes to labor in, Sports Bra or tight fitting top for labor tub, comfy shoes for walking, clean gown and nursing bra (for after delivery), Arnica Oil, Pillow, Kleenex.
My birth center gave me a list. I had to bring food, disposable incontinence pads for the bed as well as the stuff you would bring to the hospital. I am sure there are things i have forgotten. Has your MW not given you a list?
Here's the list out of the birth center's packet we were given:
Food and drinks "Birth clothes" Robe, slippers, and socks Comfortable clothes for mom to wear home Swimsuit/trunks for partner (if you're planning on using tub/shower) Toiletries (toothbrush/paste, shampoo, hair bands, hair brush, soap) Camera/phone (don't forget the charger!) Music (docking station or headphones if your center doesn't provide it) Change of clothing for partner Candles, flowers, photos for focal point, massage tools and oils Insurance card/numbers Car seat for infant Clothes for baby to wear home, including hat, 2-3 blankets weather dependent No medications, tinctures, or homeopathic treatments unless approved ahead of time
BFP 5.21.12 ~~ Born 1.28.13 BFP 8.14.15 ~~ Due 4.22.16
I was also given a list and had to buy a kit (like a homebirth kit) through a medical supply company. I can't imagine that your birth center doesn't give info to moms about what to bring.
Monique (38), Wife to Steve (32), Mom to DS Sacha (4), DS Ronen due Aug. 1st!
Thanks ladies! You guys were right, I went for a regular appointment today and she gave me a list! It's actually a lot shorter then I thought it would be. Thanks for your replys!

For baby: Newborn diapers, baby wipes, 2 sleepers, 2 onesies, 2 pair baby socks, thermal stretch blanket, receiving blanket, thermometer.
'Nice to haves': Juice, snacks for labor, frz meal for after birth, camera, baby book, music.
It is an independent birth center, so obviously, if you are birthing at a hospital birthing center, you will not need some of the more basic items.
Also, I am ordering a 'birth kit' through another company that she suggested to cover some of the more 'medical-ish' supplies.
HTH!
