Any photographers in the house?

I just purchased the hs30 exr. I'm having a problem, when I zoom in and and zoom back out it will not refocus unless I turn the camera off and then back on. I have also had times were I turn the camera on and I have the message "focus error" and I have to turn it off and turn it back on numerous times for the message to go away. Has anyone encountered these problems with their cameras and what did you do to fix them?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That's actually a lens problem, not a body problem. Does the error have a number with it?

No, no number with it. I'm thinking that I'm going to have to send it away already but who knows how long it will be before it comes back. I may also just return it and purchase another one. The lens is attached and not a DSLR.

Yeah, then it's a definite body problem. I would return it and let them know it's defective.
