Anyone have the crayola my first crayons?

The ones that fit into the little animal shaped handles? We put some in M's stocking but the crayon keeps falling out! Is there some way to lock the crayon in? If there is I can't seem to figure it out

DS got some from a gift exchange and I gave up trying to keep him from taking the crayons out and just removed them so I haven't tried, but maybe if you advance the crayon a bit (push button on top and turn body) it'll hold the crayon in better?  I just bought these jumbo sized crayola crayons for him and his sister to doodle with and they seem to do ok with regular crayons.

I read several reviews about how much these blow.  Just go with the large washable crayons.

The best crayon "investment" I ever made was to buy Crayola Twistables. I think I spent $5 for 24, but the crayon cannot come out of the plastic casing so my DD was unable to eat or break them. I find she can hold them just fine.

These are so stupid! We have the same problem!  It's soon annoying!

We were given a bunch for DS's birthday, some of them are fine but others fall out a lot.  If I push the button on the top and get the crayon wedged up there before I release the button, it will usually hold it in for awhile.

Ours fell out as soon as she tried to use them so i just bought her the regular large crayons and she's fine with them.

If its for your 1YO, could you just use regular crayons?  Dd manages those great, she could never figure out the best way to grip the big animal holders.
