Extra Cranky LO After X-Mas

Anyone else have a super cranky baby the day after all the x-mas festivities???

We went to ILs for x-mas eve.  2.5 hour trip each way.  LO slept in the car both ways, and was so well behaived at the ILs, even took a nap!  Then on x-mas day my very loud and crazy family came to us.  LO was great that day too!  Tolerated being passed around and missing a nap.  She was up past her bedtime both nights by about an hour.

THEN ... the day after x-mas I had the crankiest baby on the block!  After feeding her at 7 am, she and I laid in bed for a while, and she fell back asleep until 10 am!  So did I!  She woke up happy and so did I!  I thought, this is a perfect start to a relaxing day!  But boy was I wrong!  She was just extra cranky and extra tired all day.  I tried to read her cues and nurse her and put her down for naps when she got tired.  Don;t get me wrong, she napped alot that day.  Normally this is good!  But when she was awake, she'd only be happy for 30-60 minutes before she started acting tired again. 

I'm wondering if there was just too much excitement going on for two days, and she got over stimulated.  But if that were the case, wouldn;t she have been fussy during the stimulation versus after it all went away???

Anyone else have a  super cranky baby the day after all the excitememt???

Yep! 

So much going on then all of a sudden, nothing. We're better today though thank goodness.

We had a rough time Christmas night.  My LO just sleeps so poorly when he is overtired.  I think he woke up five times - which means so did mama.

Same with us. DS was great Christmas Eve and Christmas day but yesterday was really rough.

off topic- but when I see your siggy I imagine your DS saying "how YOU doin?" ( like Joey from Friends) with a little tongue click and finger shoot at the end.

LO is never cranky, but he started whimpering in his sleep when he'd go down for a nap. Our family Christmases lasted 4 days, so the kid was totally pooped. And he kept getting overwhelmed because relatives would get all in his face and be really loud. A few minutes of "Ohhh, who's a good boy?!" and those arms were flailing & he was looking for Momma!
