I am on the later side transitioning off the bottles. I decided to get rid of them and my LO is refusing to drink milk from sippys. He will drink water. I worry bc dont they need a certain amt of milk right now for brain development? He dosent eat cheese and is sort of a picky eater. I know ppl say they will get enough from foods, but right now I am not so certain that he is. What is the required milk amount for this age(17 mos?) Did anyone else experience LO refusing milk in sippys? Did it pass?
Re: how much milk?
Aside from a 1 day stand off with DD my kids did pretty good with milk from a sippy so not advice their. My pedi says 12-20 oz milk (ideally 16) for calcium and for the fat for brain development. When DD gave me a hard time every time she asked for a drink I handed her the sippy with milk she kept refusing until she got thirsty enough to drink it. This was only over a span of a few hrs. No problems after that. Hope it passes soon!
It took us 4 different sippy cups to find the right one for milk (DD will not drink milk from the same one she drinks water). We use this one - https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=15301876
Our pedi recommends 16-20oz a day
