Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Bad day!!

I think my DS is teething I'm not sure what else it could be! , he's woke up at 645 this morning he hasn't napped unless he was in my arms when I go toput him down he screams  bloody murder , I'm at my wits end I don't know what to do for him . He's usually really good at napping  ... His cheeks are beat red if that means anything but no fever he seems healthy . What do I do?

If it's only been one day then I wouldn't stress it. They can't be in good moods and sleep perfect every day! Sometimes babies have bad days too.

This. Could be teething, could just be a bad nap day. At least there's no fever. If tomorrow shapes up to be a bit more of the same, I would continue to check temp, give a cold damp wash cloth for LO to chew on and possibly a 1/2 dose of  infant tylenol to see if that helps.

  • Sounds like my ds when he was getting teeth should pass in a couple days Tylenol should help

  • DS was in this sort of mood all day yesterday. What a delightful first Christmas! Stick out tongue I have no idea what made him cranky. He had no signs of teeth yet, no temp, and less gas than usual. On the up side, he was super agreeable today and napped for 2.5 hours total! (We usually only get 1.5 hours total out of 3 naps, so this was a record day.) I hope your LO is feeling better soon!

  • Thank you for the advice! I finally got him asleep in his crib hopefully it last hehe....I'm still not sure what the cause of his crankiness is tho.
  • Did you check to see if he has a temp? Cheeks beet red make me think fever. Whether he's not feeling well or teething fever goes hand in hand. Take his temp give him some baby tylenol or baby ibuprofen if he has fever.

100.5 is the limit from there you need to go in to the dr.

Otherwise maybe he is constipated? Apple juice water mix usually does the trick w/ dd
  • Other than teething, and if this goes on for more than one day/night, then it could maybe be an ear infection? Our LO did this 2 nights in a row then it leaked over to naps during the day so I made a dr's appt (low grade fever) and she had a double ear infection.
