Awake time

How long are your babies staying awake at a stretch between naps these days? DS has taken longer to settle to sleep the last few days and I'm wondering if it's from the excitement of the holidays/change in schedule or if I should be letting him stay awake longer. I usually try to start getting him to sleep after 75 to 90 min of awake time. The stretch right before bed is more like 2 hours.

Re: Awake time

  • I think Rylan is getting about 2 hours of wake time. It's been a little longer the past few days because of all the holiday hustle and bustle.

  • B has just started to be able to really increase his wake time! Morning is shorter, only 90 minutes. Before pm nap is two hours and after that he can sometimes go 3 hours or so....I think he is transitioning to dropping that third nap.

  • I would say about 2 hours, MAYBE 3. I just follow her cues and start the wind-down routine when appropriate. She's napping less amounts of time too- unless she's had a big day (out and about, traveling, etc...).

  • 2 hour maybe 2 hours and 15 minutes.
    33
  • Somewhere between 70 and 90 minutes. This is actually just recent. His awake time used to be 1 hour.

  • We had been at 90 minutes pretty consistently for awhile, but he has (happily) gone a few 2 hour stretches in the last few days now, so it may be stretching out now.

  • Depends on how long his last nap was, but between 90 minutes and 2 hours.

My cousin's son is 11 months old and his awake time at Christmas had been 3 hours before sh!t hit the fan.

  • ds is awake for 3-4 hours at a time.  He only takes a short morning nap, then one longer afternoon nap and then goes back to sleep around 7PM.
