Just wanted to see how the holidays are going for everybody.
DD has HFMD/chicken pox/who knows so we've just been hanging out at home.
We don't have a big family and did a little get together over the weekend. She opened her presents and didn't care too much about all the hooplah.
She also face planted on the sidewalk, cutting her lip, bumped her head on her new toy, and got her fingers caught in her toy bin. She also freaked the f out seeing Santa.
Overall, not the best Christmas for her, but I'm super happy I got to spend time with her and DH.

Re: How did Christmas go?
Ours was pretty good... started out well, DH and I did presents at home and ate cinnamon rolls while DS napped in his swing... but then we went to my parents house where we had a rough early afternoon. DH doesn't believe me that DS NEEDS to nap and he needs help doing it, so in an effort not to argue on Christmas I let him keep him up too long...cue massive meltdown unlike any I ever have when it's just me and the babes. Then my mom was butting in way too much offering suggestions and I was super pissed at DH that he convinced me to let it get to that point. Eventually I went out to the store to get a few last minute ingredients and let DH deal with the mess he'd created. By the time I got back DS still wasn't sleeping, but he was finally calmed down so after 5 min. with him I got him to nap for several hours... from then on we were good. He was sleeping most of the time the extended family was over, so we got to eat with everyone.
Overall a good Christmas, of course just getting to have Raylan with us for it was amazing... I was just so upset to have him screaming like I've never heard on our first Christmas together. It's so hard for me to let DH learn his own way with him because I feel like he doesn't learn! Today I was doing laundry/running errands to get ready for our trip and DH STILL wasn't trying to get him to nap... STILL saying "he'll sleep when he's tired." GAH! I don't know what to do... it drives me effing bonkers.

I've decided that I'm the only one who knows how to soothe, calm, keep Jackson on his routine. No one else does it like me. I'm sure it's in my head but I really want to say do it my way.

Christmas Day was wonderful, but Christmas Eve was awful. We were on our way to my in laws on Christmas Eve and DD started to cry, we figured she just had a wet diaper and figured we would change it when we got to the house. She continued to cry loudly, so DH pulled into a shopping center to park the car and changed her diaper. She continued to cry and we tried to figure out what was wrong and thought maybe she was just tired since it was near the time of her bedtime routine. We got to the in laws and she continued to cry, DH checked her diaper and noticed she was really red around her vagina and there was blood when he wiped her. I tried to nurse her to see if she would calm down and she screamed and cried, so we knew something was seriously wrong with her and we went straight to a pediatric urgent care center.
After a checkup, the doctor seemed to think she was fine, said the rash was normal but the blood must mean her skin is pretty irritated and to use A and D ointment. Just to be safe, and since DH had seen discharge that had a weird smell as well, they wanted to do a catheter to check if she had a bladder infection. Yeah that sucked, she cried and I held her hands and tried my best to comfort her, my poor baby:( Luckily no bladder infection and we went home.
After speaking with my mil, DH found out that as a baby he had such sensitive skin that the doctor told her to stop using diapers. It all started to click then, how dd is okay when she has a BM diaper, she'll just play happily, but when she pees even the slightest bit she complains and wants to be changed, it is because the pee must be burning/irritating. We got the ointment and have been using it since and she is much happier, although I still plan to follow up with my pediatrician.
Christmas Day was great, we had our families at our house and it was so nice to see everyone together with dd and to see her so happy again:)
Glad you guys were able to find out what was wrong. I hope the ointment helps lessen the irritation.

Christmas was great. DD was at my in-laws already, since we sent her on Sunday so we could relax after a long week and get our Christmas shopping done. We took her presents over with us when we went, since its an hour plus drive, and we knew she was wanting to stay some time with DH's family after we were done with our Christmas-y stuff. She already knows the truth about Santa so its all good.
That was all Christmas eve. Christmas day it was just DH and I, we went and had chinese food and cleaned on the house a bit, it seems to get away from us when we are both working, me 40+ hours and DH 50-60 hours. Its still quiet here, DD is at her great grandparents with her cousins that are close in age to her. We just have to work and it gives her a chance to spend time with them rather than sit at home bored.
Oh! DD's favorite gift was her Justin Beiber purfume. She was so cute. She was so excited that when she opened it, she took it right out of the box! Score one for DH and I since it was from us! Ahhh...the life of a mom to a tween...
