Sutton ( I actually have a friend with a little girl Sutton, It is also my MIL's married name) I don't like the name at all, boy or girl, but if used should be a boy. My DH thinks in high school she will get sluttin.
i kind of like collins ever since i heard it in the blind side. i dont know if i would use it, but it's not bad. sutton is ok too. they do seem on the trendy side, but are way better than most trendy names!
trying for #1 since May 2012... we're adopting!bringing home baby boy in january 2015!
Sutton Place is a historically upper-crust neighborhood in NYC. So I'd give someone named this the side-eye; their parents were clearly trying too hard. It's like naming your kid Harvard or something.
I know a couple of Suttons and a couple of Collinses, all girls--and all family names. I love both names if they are family names. If they are random surnames you have no family ties to, I really dislike them.

This. I would expect either to be your maiden name, etc. Otherwise, it's just weird to pick someone else's last name.
Re: Sutton or Collins
These names fall into the "fancy soap opera name" category for me. If I had to chose I would pick Sutton.
BTW-- love your DD's name and she is a doll!

Thank you! I heard Sutton on some CW show (can't remember) and then Collins was on the "Blindside" movie. Both girl names.
I am not 100% sold on either.
First thought is they are both boy names.
Collins they ruined perfectly good Collin.

I didn't even think about that (and we had tossed around the name Sutton). I definitely prefer Sutton to Collins though.
Both make me think boy but I could like Sutton on a girl as well.
I do not like Collins. Reminds me of the drink.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
Yup
I think why are you calling them their first and last names?
This.
Pick a first name for his first name.
