My son is going to be 7 months on 1/8. He hasn't slept through the night once. Lately, last 3 weeks, he goes to bed fine without a problem, but wakes up every 2.5 hours. Some days he's waking up every hour. I don't know what to do. I have tried EVERYTHING. Did anyone else go through this? Any advice?
Thanks!
Re: Sleep issues...HELP!!!
Hi there,
I went through the same thing with my son. He is almost 10 months old and he started sleeping through the night at 8.5 months; I feel your pain.
As much as I hated the idea of "crying it out", I was totally exhausted and useless at work. One night after I fell asleep my husband turned the sound off on the baby monitor and I woke up at 4AM panicking that something was wrong with my son. Apparently he woke up twice, cried for 10min and fell asleep (I was so tired that I didn't even hear him). That lasted 3 nights and now he sleeps 8PM-5AM, that's when I bring him in for some cuddle time and he usually falls asleep till 7AM.
As long as your baby is not hungry or in pain he'll be ok. Good luck!!!
You'll see how fabulous yopu feel after sleeping for more than 2 hours at a time.
I did the saaame thing hun. You may not realize it but you're letting him nap too often, too long & too late. Keep him up more during the day, I had to do this with dd. and as much as it pained me, let her cio at first (5-10mins max). I had to come up with an evening schedule, 7:30pm works best in our house. 2 naps max during the day, 1 morning nap & 1 afternoon nap - no later than 4pm & up no later than 4pm.
I wake up, do breakfast - playtime then a nap around 10ish. She's up about an hour later & same routine, usually down by 2:30pm then up around 3:30pm latest. Playtime, dinner, bath, bottle & lights our for her by 7:30 sometimes 8pm. My pediatrician said do not let her nap for more than 2.5 hours daily. As soon as i took & stuck to her advice. Night time has gotten much better than before.
Everyone's house is different but this is what works best for us. Just wanted to share. GL!
Also, dd is being fed formula... making sure lo has a full belly by bedtime is essential, otherwise lo will wake up hungry. this is something you will want to talk to your pediatrician about depending as to whether you're bf or ff & will be able to give you advice fit for your routine to help come up with suggestions.
b/c i ff & now she's eating solids I put rice cereal in her bottle at night. Burp & make sure to give gas drops just incase.
Thanks so much for the advice. His longest nap is 1.5 hours. Normally he naps around 9:30-10 and again between 2:00-2:30. The 4:305 nap is only from daycare home which is 5 minutes from home. Hopefully he grows out of it. Good luck to you
