Hi ladies, just wanted to introduce myself. As my sn implies, I live a simple life. My name is Jill and I found out I'm pregnant 2 days ago on Christmas eve. I'm happy to have found an online community of supportive women!
My question- my boyfriend REALLY wants a boy. Is there anyway we can make sure we have a boy? If the ultrasound says girl, is there anyway we can change that? I thought I read somewhere you can change the gender if your child but now I can't find the article.
Re: short intro & gender question
I hope you are MUD.
Either way, you are an idiot.
Sorry, once everything gets rolling on the pregnancy train there is no way to pull the brakes. Basically whatever sex (not gender-- that is something different) the baby is going to be is already determined. If your anatomy scan says girl its very rare that its a boy when the baby comes out. There is no way to change that.
Honestly, I think its kind of messed up that you would want to try to "change it" if you found out it was a girl. You get what you get and rejoice in it. A healthy baby is what truly matters. You could always have a tomboy that loves to hang out with Daddy. You could have a boy that loves to play house and dress up. No matter what the genitalia are doesn't automatically predetermine what your parenting experience will be like. I would re-evaluate your priorities. I don't mean this in a mean way, but truly there are more important things in this life.

Made up drama. People posting stupid crap to get a rise out of people.
Made Up Drama: basically a poster with a low post count that comes in and posts about a particularly inflammatory topic. In this case this is a variation of Gender Disappointment. That usually gets people upset.
How do you think a doctor could change the eye color, sex or hair color when the embryo is already dividing and such. Its already a done deal when the strip turns pink. Biology wasn't an elective in school for me, was it for you?

Maybe she'll take that class next year.
Oh FFS
The artical is for IVF, something I'm guessing you needed if you can't even figure out not being able to change the gender.
But theyt ake your follicals out after week(s) of shots, ultrasounds, bloodwork.. and than they test them before implanting them into your ute.
This is NOT something you can do AFTER your pregnant.
I'm also guessing the cost for the above would be $10K or above, and I don't think insurance would cover it due to it just being elective.
Nope, for twins or multiples you have to do cartwheels. Lots of 'em. I suck at cartwheels so I guess I'm having a singleton!
We are not hormonal. We are just wondering how you are smart enough to put your pants on in the morning.
Because if you are bringing a life into this world, you need to know the very BASICS of how it works. I'm embarrassed for you that you have the know how to find a baby board but not Google "what determines baby gender".
I know babies genders are chosen when they are conceived. My question was CAN IT BE CHANGED?
Pathetic attempt at MUD. Just pathetic.

Wait a second, you're not to supposed to do splits? Thus, splitting the fetus? Oh my god, I need to contact my OBGYN immediately.

Um, do you have issues reading? We've answered your question. Once the embryo has implanted you can't change a thing. It's over. You get whatever you get.
All this selection stuff you are pondering has to take place before implantation. As of right now, you can't change jack about the fetus you are carrying now.
Are you going to terminate if you find out its a girl? What about adoption? you obviously feel strongly. So, it might be in the kid's best interest to go to a family that loves her and accepts her no matter what sex organs she has. That would complete the holy trifecta of stupid you've got going here.
I don't know about you but its way more b1tchy to care so much about what is between your baby's legs. You've gotten your answer. I rarely say this, but I feel sorry for this baby if its a girl. You really should get your priorities straight if you are real.
LFAF Summer 2016 Awards:
I don't care what gender the baby is. its my boyfriend. He's really serious about it and I'm actually afraid he might leave me if its a girl.
I would prefer a girl anyway.
I'm going to give you an honest answer... No. You can't change anything once the child has been conceived. A lot of women really want kids and can't have them so you should be happy you are pregnant and be happy with whatever sex of child you get. If you get a girl, next time BEFORE you conceive, read up because there are some "sway" methods to try to influence the conception of a boy over a girl. I would also google things before posting here or you will definitely not be happy with the responses.
Ladies, I know I am no fun. You guys have enough of it for me:)
have him read online. His sperm determine boy or girl. He's an idiot to leave you because he didn't produce the child he wanted. Or better yet, maybe you should get out because he sounds like a real winner.
Better yet, please don't conceive again.
A) If he leaves he was not a real man
C) God help us all...
I think you should dump the loser. It sounds like you'd be gaining more in the way of a positive atmosphere for your kid. Next time be a little more selective in your choice of procreation partners.

Have you read this thread?
what gives others the right to tell op how many kids she can have? you're not God.
Could you make your sig a little longer?
He sounds like a real winner.
Gosh, you sure told me. I'll bow my head in shame and walk away now.
Weren't you just telling her how many kids she can have? Hypocritical much?
Can you make your sig pic any bigger?
huh? She can have as many kids as she wants. Who cares. This isn't China.
OP seems to think it is China, since female fetuses aren't welcome and all.
You can't tell someone she can have as many kids as she wants while simultaneously telling other people they cant tell OP whether or not to have kids. Its hypocritical.
