DD favorite toy was a xylophone followed closely by a slinky. DS didn't show any interest in anything
I think we are going to put it towards going to a nice dinner for New Years Eve. Probably The Melting Pot. It's kind of a tradition.
he's not even 1 yet so he prefers the boxes!! he got buttloads of toys but just wants the boxes.
the cash is going in the bank.

1. All 3 got an itouch.
2. Bills~ we have a looming & upcoming hospital bill for DS1 surgery in February (21st) in which our deductible renews 2/28...this will be our first time coming close to meeting it though ; )
Edit to add the 3rd: I thought the Furby DD asked for was a little weird but it ended up being pretty cool & made her real happy.
We didn't get many gifts from extended family~ most sent $ or gcs because of shipping & distance.
1. Either his Dodge Charger powerwheel or his Tag Junior. He has been playing with both all day.
2. Saving it. It wasn't much, so we are just going to put it into savings and save it. We don't need anything right now....
Her kitchen set.
She got a lot of stuff for Hanukkah--which she loved as well. But she was SOO excited to play with her kitchen this morning.
It's not that it's creepy or bad, but my ILs got DS a clock, like plain white wall clock. Just strange to me....
1. Favorite was her horse (stuffed, non-rocking but she can sit on it). She would play with something else but then remember the horse and run back over to it.
2. No cash, but two good gift cards that will be used very soon--Barnes and noble (books for my classroom...love that) and a local saddlery shop (I'm getting back into riding after about 15 years out of the saddle. The gift card will get cheap boots and a couple of pairs of riding pants for me.)
3. Creepiest/weirdest: hmmm....not creepy but weirdly timed. Three Christmas dresses that fit her right now (by age). She can't wear them next year and can't really this year anymore. I don't really understand that, but they're pretty.
Already spent Christmas cash wal mart gift cards, mostly on stuff for my daughter.
Creepiest gift.. hmmm, didn't get anything creepy. They were all good gifts.
Buddy LOVES his Guitar and Amp! He also loves his M&D stamp set, and he got a Discovery kids Tent and my parents got him a camp fire set (to prep him for camping next summer!)
Tiny got this gear set thing, you put the gears on and push the button and it lights up and is just AWESOME! He flippen loves it!
DH's favorite gift was GoT season 1 on bluray, and the whiskey stones.
Mine, my new wine rack, and this lace dress from my mom. I can't wait to rock it with my boots.
DH and I each got 50$ from his dad, I think I will buy myself some new running shoes, and maybe a new sports bra.
Nothing awful or creepy.
No cash and only one gift card to my salon. I'll get shampoo, conditioner and a brow wax with it.
Nothing creepy so far that I can think of but his Hulk raged a few times getting settled in the storage box tonight.
1. She got a whole load of cars and trains. She's over the moon about them. Also she got a little cup thing that she can spin around in circles in. DD's favorite activity is getting dizzy, so it's a good fit for her.
2. We didn't get any money, but we did get some restaurant gift cards. I look forward to using them soon.
3. DD got one of those Hallmark books with the dog that talks along with it at certain points. It's strange. I know it's not that weird, but it really creeped her out.
The Little People Wheelies Amusement Park is his favorite toy.
I only got $40 in cash, so probably lunch or a pedicure. Or baby clothes
We didn't get anything creepy
1. He loves the peg board. Second favorite is the M & D cutting food. I think the balance bike would have been at the top of his list but I wouldn't let him ride it without a helmet, and he didn't want to wear a helmet.
2. I got gift cards to the spa, Loft, and Gap. H got a Kohl's gift card. We'll be buying clothes and I'll be getting a facial.
3. The worst gift was a light up Mickey Mouse head on a stick. When you press the button, it plays horrible music and blows snow around the head.
She *might* be able to. My DD can wear a wide range in dress sizes because generally the waist line is close to the same, the length just gets shorter obviously as she gets taller.
1.) What was your kids favorite toy this year? The basketball hoop that now resides in my living room. (Grr.)
2.) If you got Christmas cash what do you plan on spending it on? No Christmas cash here.
3.) What was the worst creepiest gift you or the kids received? DS receiving this stuffed monkey that looks like a ferret. When you squeeze its' hand, it rolls around on the floor and laughs. CREEPY.
1. I don't know if she has just one. Her mini keyboard and cabbage patch twins got the best initial reaction. Her kitchen and her singing tea pot are getting the most play time so far.
2. I got gift cards for clothing stores. I'll use them to buy clothes.
3. Eh. I'll pass on this one.
1. She seems to like the Little People Zoo Talkers playset the best so far.

3. Nothing really creepy. She did get this tiny little dog purse that can probably only hold a tube of chapstick because the opening is so small. It's actually kind of cute but just gonna be a thing that adds to the clutter.

1. Ds's favorite gift was his police car power wheels. His mini slinky was a close second. Or the Thomas remote control train.
dd's favorite? Carmel popcorn? Maybe her tiny Scout that plays lullabies?

Not really creepy, but MIL let ds open one present to tide over his excitement and the one she picked out was a "family gift" that included several outfits for dd, one outfit for ds, a few winter hats, a kitchen tool for dh and nothing fun. It was quite disappointing to be the one gift he got to open.
2.) If you got Christmas cash what do you plan on spending it on? Saving it (along with some other money I received for my birthday) for a vacation we're planning on taking next September.
3.) What was the worst creepiest gift you or the kids received? No creepy gifts--they were all great.
DS2 August 2012
1.) DS' hands down favorite gift: Rollipop
2.) Christmas cash always goes in the bank (lame, I know).
3.) I got DS a book with a picture of him going on an adventure with Elmo. He did not care for it. I said, "Who's that?!?!?!" And pointed at his picture and he said, "Somebody else." Then he refused to acknowledge it for the rest of the day. I thought it was really cute, but he thought it was the worst creepiest gift.

3. nothing creepy this yr. All the gifts were from me and I don't buy creepy
1. She got three Yo Gabba Gabba stuffed Brobee, Muno, and Toodie toys that are all about her size. She has carried them with her everywhere so far.
2. All of our Christmas cash goes towards DD's tuition at school. We actually asked our families to donate in cash whatever they would have spent on presents to us instead since we didn't need anything except money for her.
3. The only present I didn't like for DD was some play dishes and cups for her kitchen. They aren't well made at all, super cheap plastic and I don't see BPA free on them anywhere. I'm kinda picky about the quality of her play kitchen things - all wooden or the PBK sets that are well made. DD STILL puts things in her mouth, and she is at a pretend stage where she likes to have pretend tea parties with water. I don't really want her drinking out of these cups and dishes. I'm going to donate the set with a Goodwill bag of stuff I have going to drop of before the New Year.
1. Probably her vtech digital camera, her pictures are terrible lol but she is having a ball taking them! she's already filled it up twice that's over 700 pictures in 2 days, haha
2. DH won his fantasy football so that's 600.00!! we're stoked! I get 100.00 to spend freely as does he and the rest into savings...I told him I might get Bumble and Bumble product for my hair he thinks I should do something else...I MEAN I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT I WANT!!!!!!!!!! HALP!!!!11!11!
3. My mom (who I no longer speak with) sent a whole thing of gifts with my grandma one year and grandma insisted we open them. One was labeled to DH and I; we opened it in front of everyone...KY His and Her lube. I ALMOST DIED.
again. No longer speak to my Mom she is literally insane.
DUDE. you're telling me. LOL in front of my grandparents and little brother nonetheless....I still feel panicked thinking about it!
DD loves all of her toys, but she is IN LOVE with her bouncing tigger doll, dreamlight and buzz lightyear ride on rocket ship.
We got a nice check that will mostly go into savings, but we will spend some on new maternity clothes for me and probably a new leaf blower for H.
DD was given 10, that is going in her piggy bank. We got a grocery gift card, which will go to groceries, a target card which I will probably use for make up and house stuff and a mall cert card that I will use for maternity clothes.

1.) What was your kids favorite toy this year? The thermometer in his vet clinic kit. He runs around with it under his arm and when he can't find it he walks around saying, "temperature, temperature?"
2.) If you got Christmas cash what do you plan on spending it on? Not to be a downer, but my grandmother went into the hospital on the 23rd and is probably going to pass in the next 5-10 days. It's sad, but she is practically 93 so it's not a huge surprise or anything. Anyway, we'll use it to help buy plane tickets out for her funeral.
3.) What was the worst creepiest gift you or the kids received? I'm not sure that we really got anything creepy. Oh, my mom did get us a hat with Santa's face on it. But that's more ridiculous than truly creepy.

Hard to tell so far. He played with the B. Stackadoos a lot and he got a bunch of different kids of cars that he loves. And he has brushed his teeth with his new tooth brush about 50 times so far.
2.) If you got Christmas cash what do you plan on spending it on?
The only cash we got was for the kids so it will be deposited in their non college savings accounts. We do a parent match of 100% of any cash they get as gifts. I also buy out their gift cards and put the cash amount x2 in the savings. They both got Target and BN gift cards this year.
3.) What was the worst creepiest gift you or the kids received?
The stuffed alligator that DS2 got and DS1 is terrified of it.
That is a great idea! I have wondered what to do with gift cards that people give her. It's not like I can say, "you have $20. Go pick something out!" lol. I'm goign to start doing this. Thanks!
DD got that creepy bear last year and still hates it. I'm scared of it too
