I'm new from the 9-12 month board. I have twin girls that just turned a year over the weekend and we are still on formula...4 bottles a day anywhere from 26-30 ounces a day still. My girls aren't eating more than purress and puffs at this point I'm just now starting them on solids. We've been struggling with the transition.
My question is is anyone else behind on this as well? Will they start dropping ounces of milk when they eat more solids?
I dont want to switch until I get them consistently on solids 3 times a day which i'm hoping will be in the next month or by their adjusted age which would be in February.
Sorry for the long post any help is appreciated.
Re: Feeding troubles. Formula to milk question.
DS used to drink TONS of formula (as much as 40+ oz per day). Now that he's on whole milk, he drinks about 30 oz per day and still eats 3 solid meals and 2 snacks. So, in his case, he did drop oz, but not a ton. His nutritionist wants us to limit him to 20 oz of milk per day, but I think that's rather unusual.
I would probably do what you're doing - get them eating solids consistently before you drop the formula in favor of milk. You could always ask their pediatrician, as well.
