My daughter just got her first tooth. I've read conflicting things about the best way to care for them. On one site, it said to just use a wash cloth to wipe them off, then another that said to use fluoride free baby toothpaste. What do you all do? Also, if no toothpaste now, when do you start? How do they spit it out if they do use it now? If baby falls asleep with a bottle in her mouth, do you wake her up to brush? I'm so confused.
Edit.
I feed her the bottle, I don't give it to her in her crib, but she falls asleep a lot at the bottle.
Re: Caring for baby teeth
I was at the dentist last week and asked. Brush with water and toothbrush; no toothpaste. I didn't ask about when to start toothpaste, but will ask when I go back for my next appt.
We brush when we get ds dressed in the morning and putting pjs on at night. I then nurse and don't wake him to brush. We also don't remember to brush every day, but it gets done the majority of days.
We use a finger tooth brush with training tooth paste with DS.
I have been searching for a finger tooth brush. Where does one find?
