Cloth trainers?--XP

DS is 21 months.  We have been doing EC, and after a 3 month strike, is back in the game.  I think he may just go ahead and completely PT now.  I hate having to deal with diapers in the bathroom after he uses the potty, but I'm not brave enough to take him out and about in his undies.  We have some cloth training pants, but they are not waterproof.

Any recommendations for waterproof underpants that will pull up and down and hold one entire pee?  I guess what I want are cloth Pull Ups.

  • DD uses Flips trainers. They are pretty awesome. They hold everything in nicely and if you don't catch a pee in time it can hold more than 1 pee (unless they pee like a super duper ton). We even use them for overnight. We just pop a hemp insert under the regular organic insert. They pull up and down, and they snap and unsnap in case they poop. We have really liked them.

  • Can you sew?  I saw an online tutorial that uses prefolds and a layer of PUL to make them.  I think I will try that when DD is older.   I do wonder how they would dry though.  I always line dry my PUL and put prefolds in the dryer.

  • I'm pretty sure that Charlie bananas makes a pull up type trainer... I haven't used this specifically, but I do like their pocket diapes, so I would assume the trainers are good, too.
