Re: c-section recovery

  • I was a lot slower recovering from this c/s but I am pretty much back to normal now. I am rarely taking the pain meds anymore and if I need anything, I just do the prescription strength motrin. Are you trying to do too much too soon? If I overdo it (trying to pick up laundry baskets, DD, etc.) I definitely feel it. I can also tell I've done too much if I start bleeding again. If you are taking it easy and still having a lot of pain, you should prob call your dr.

  • just make sure you stay on top of your pain meds - they prescribe them for a reason. take tylenol and advil combo

it was major surgery - i'd say it'll be 3/4 weeks before you start feeling kinda normal

  • It took me almost the full 6 weeks to feel "normal." I was still very sore through the first 4 weeks; I also fell and felt my healing abdominal muscles tear again. Regardless, my healing want as fast as I had hoped or wanted. I'm at 12 weeks now and can finally run around cleaning and do all my old and new chores without any pain or soreness the next day. Hope you heal well!
  • I'd say I was back to normal pretty quick however I still get a pain on my left side when I stretch or twist and I'm 9 wks out.

nothing bad, but I can tell.

  • I think for everyone it's a little different. For me at 2 weeks PP I probably shouldn't have but I was doing laundry and sweeping the house, but I also could totally still tell when I overdid it, or when I moved the wrong way.

Now at 6 weeks, I still sometimes feel "bruised" in the general area of my incision, but overall, I feel totally normal again, even went running (even though it was slow), just take it one day at a time, and you will be back to normal before you know it.

  • My lo is a week old..i am still in pain sometimes..when i lay down on one side or bend over..i am still recovering i take my pain meds once a day because my lo wakes every 3hr to feed so its hard to stay awake when i take pain meds!

  • I would say it was about 4 weeks before i could get up and down without any discomfort.  i'm still not completely comfortable.  Heck, my cousin is 6mo post c-section and she still has some discomfort.  It does get better.  As you feel better, you do more, prolonging discomfort.  Hope you start to feel more comfortable!
