  • We went through that at bedtime around the same age. I took milk away at night and changed to water so we didnt have nasty throwup. Also for about a week I laid on her floor till she was asleep. It was a rough few weeks but you will get through it.

I remember that episode. There kid did it when they would leave her in the kids area at church. She was older though(3 maybe.) I think they told her if she threw up she would have to stay in the same clothes and they would be stinky etc. I think that is what stopped them.

I don't like giving into tantrums or touching the child but sometimes it is necessary for a parent to intervene. Every child is different. Maybe try something a little more AP. Hold her firmly until she calms down. She may just need to feel safe and secure. Is she getting enough cuddle time? Also make sure you totally lavish on the praise when she does something right. "Give me the toy" she gives it to you "Yay! Awesome! Way to go DD." Give her kisses, a high five, whatever motivates her.

  • My nephew used to do this. Vince they realize puking gets them a ton if attention they begin to do it more. Give as little attention as possible while cleaning up, ie no talking, eye contact etc.

As for the tantrum itself when DD throws one we put her in her bed and tell her when she is done she can get up. Bits amazing how much she understands. She is 18mo and in a toddler bed but will stay until we allow her to get up. We usually ask "are you all done". The tears will instantly stop and she says yes. Now if a tantrum starts we can usually just say do you want to go to your bed, she will respond with no and we will tell her to stop then and 90 of the time it actually works.

    GL tantrums suck!
