No wet diaper??

So DS slept 10 to 6:20. I gave him a bottle and went to change his diaper an it's dry. This is unusual he usually has a very wet diaper when he wakes up. Should I be concerned?

  • I remember someone posted about this a while back and their pedi said something about bladder control overnight.  Sometimes Aria will have a dry diaper after a long night and I probably would have freaked out if someone else hadn't already brought it up.  She continues to always have lots of wet ones during the day, though, so I don't worry much about it.

  • It's fine. Ds1 did this once he was sleeping better at night. Heck we neverhad nnight time leaks until he was 18 months 'ish.

  • Dd had a dry diaper from 10pm until 1pm the next day. I wigged! Pedi said totally normal. It only happened that one time, but I still think about it and count her wets from time to time.

  • My LO will occasionally wake up with a dry diaper, I chock it up to sleeping soundly overnight. She always makes up for it the rest of the day.
  • If there isn't a lot during the next diaper change I'd call again and go to the ER. This happened with DS1 last January. He ended up being dehydrated so just keep an eye in it.

  • DS wakes up dry maybe two times per week. He regularly sleeps 7 or 8 hours overnight. Usually when this happens, I check him again after he nurses and he's soaked. I'm sure everything is fine, but just keep an eye on it.
