Honey Baked Ham?

When I recently found out I was pregnant again (after a recent m/c) my DH and I decided we wanted to wait 8 weeks at least until we told...anyone. 

 Well - turns out my MIL is a pro at "asking just the right questions" to get us to spill the news. Most recently, she keeps talking about how she is making Ham for Christmas dinner - and am I sure I can eat it? 

She has that motherly instinct and can tell something is up - but I was really hoping to wait to share the news...

 annnyway - point of this post is -  

If it is cooked - is ham ok to eat? I always thought it was...but she keeps probing. Thoughts?

Yes you can eat ham. It's the bacteria in the juice of the deli meat that can have listeria. Even that if you heat it is ok to eat. If a ham comes out if the oven it is more than ok to eat.

That is what we are having for Christmas. It will be cooked so I don't think it will be a problem.

Thank goodness it is okay to eat and I am glad you asked this question. Especially since I usually hate Ham, but am so excited for some tomorrow!! Darn baby

I've never heard of not eating honey baked Ham, how odd! I can't wait, I swear I'm eating the whole thing hah.

Yes you can have the ham...I think wether its cold or hot since its pre-cooked.  I also will be indulging in this tomorrow, as long as my stomach agrees!

Now I want some Honey Baked Ham though!!
