My water broke just after midnight on Saturday night (I was only 35 weeks) and I called my midwife who told me to go to the hospital. I got there and had no contractions for over 24 hours so they decided to use cytotec. I was very hesitant to use it, but I trust my midwife and knew it was the best choice. No progress after 4 hours so they did another round. Also, since I wasn't even 36 weeks and hadn't taken the GBS test, they treated me like I was positive so I had to get the IV with antibiotics. Cytotec still wasn't doing much (irregular and not very strong contractions) so they put me on pit. Within 5 hours I was at a 10 (she was posterior so I had terrible back labor) and pushed for 2 hours and Caroline Ruth was born...5 lb 3 oz 18 1/2 in long. This was by FAR from the way I envisioned it going, but I did it med free and Caroline couldn't be healthier!!
Re: I did it!
Congratulations, YOU DID IT! It probably wasn't the birth you planned, but it sounds like you did what your body and baby asked of you. Congratulations!!!
