Got a call from my clinic earlier that had me go in for a bunch of bloodwork on my thyroid. Apparently the last work they did showed elevated thyroid levels? Whatever this means... Anyone else have this??
I have had an elevated TSH since prior to getting pregnant. I currently take Levothyroxine to treat it- it is very common, nothing to lose sleep over, the medication is perfectly safe and its common among pregnant women. They will most likely start you on a similar medication (if it is your TSH that is elevated) and monitor it through the remainder of your pregnancy. Its always scary getting a call from the dr, but rest assured, its an easy fix

Ive had elevated thyroid levels for about 4 years now. Like pp said, if it requires meds they are perfectly safe to take.
Basically it just means, from my understanding, your metabolism is just slower than people with non elevated thyroid levels.
Nothing to panic about. My Dr. has also told me that my levels will probably go up again bc of the pregnancy.
I had been borderline hypothyroid before getting pregnant, and once pregnant my bloodwork showed elevated TSH levels so I've been taking levothyroxine since about month 3 or so. I was freaking out at first since I hadn't been taking it the whole pregnancy and didn't know what that would mean for baby, but as long as it's not extremely severe baby should be completely fine. Side note: if it was extremely severe you would probably know as you could be pretty "sick" from different symptoms
