Baby Names

Does this go with our last name?

Hi! We are expecting a second girl, and both love the name Iris. Our last name is Cr.oss. Do you think it is hard to say the FN and LN together?

    This exactly!

  • I read Kris Cr.oss and was like "WT..." Blame my vision, not the name.

Iris is a beautiful name (and an amazing Goo Goo Dolls song) and I definitely think it's nice with your last name. It's a lot of "S", but it flows right!

  • It is fine with me!

  • It's a little bit of a tongue twister, but Iris is a great name and it pairs well with your other LO's name.  I wouldn't let it bother you too much.

  • I'm going to be the oddball here... Iris is actually one of my favorite names but I think Iris Cross is too much of a tongue twister, and it is hard to say. Maybe I'm just challenged. We considered Iris, Ivy and Isla for DD1 and she ended up as Isla. What about Ivy or Isla?

I love Isla, but DH does not. We can't get over the "poison ivy" teasing for ivy, though I really love that name too.

My DH thought the same thing about Ivy. Good luck choosing!
