I am trying to transition my LO from a RNP to the crib with no success. I was thinking of moving him to a mini crib instead and then the regular crib. He is 8 months old and 17lbs and about 29 inches. Is this too big for him to use a mini crib? He is learning to pull up and crawl and can stand up while holding on.
Re: Mini Crib
I would not get a mini crib at this point. Try to have LO play in the crib and do enjoyable activities on it, so that your LO gets used to it. Start with naps, maybe?
I will be trying for the 3rd or 4th time over the next two weeks (since I have extra days off both weeks) to get DD out of the RNP and into her crib. I'm already mentally preparing myself that it is going to be hell. It makes no sense either, she naps in a crib at daycare but does not like the crib at home. She's still in our room and I get so much grief from both moms for it. It is easier since she's bf but she's also in the 95th percentile for height and totally outgrown the RNP. A couple of tips I've been given: try to put a shirt you've worn close to the crib, they recognize your scent, definitely start with naps, use a white noise machine/fan/radio/tv and be patient. It will take time to transition.Good luck, I know I'm going to need it.
