October 2011 Moms

The weather outside is frightful.

I went to a dinner last night with my girls.  We were told the weather was going to get iffy around 10:00.  DH picked me up from dinner and we got home at 9:30,  put the kids to bed and went down stairs and the freezing rain started and now it's snowing.  A lot.

DH discovered that we have no garbage bags and we need them.  So he is walking to the grocery store.   So no real point to this post except to say that we are for sure going to have a white Christmas!

  • DD and I are going out to build snowmen.  She doesn't know it yet.  Or a fort with the toy her uncle bought her.

    It's really quite cool.

  • I need to get out with Alastair but I have a feeling it won't happen. DH just found out he has to do some more changes on a video and Aidan is not cooperating to go out.

We had the low-tech version.  It was called a bucket.  Wink  My brother and I made many igloos and forts with it.

We were supposed to get a lot of snow here last night and this morning.  We got some, but not anything like what they were predicting.  I don't think there will even be enough left on the ground for Lily to play with when she wakes up from her nap.  The bright side is that we go to the ILs' cottage for Christmas Eve/Day and they got a lot already and it's not going to warm up.  So Lily will be able to play in it on Monday, and we don't have to deal with the inconvenience of snow/bad weather.
