So Pissed!!

So a few weeks ago i sent the BD a Facebook message saying we needed to talk and try to work things out for the baby like child support. Now i just checked his facebook page and he has unfriended me and i think he blocked me. I don't even know what to do.. I'm so mad. I'm planning to speaking with a lawyer soon.

Re: So Pissed!!

  • That's the best thing to do! Get a lawyer and let the judge take care of things... That's what I'm having to do... It's better to do that than waste your time and energy trying to connect with him or deal with it yourself... Make sure everything is documented through the courts

Its understandable why he deleted you and blocked you. Did you honestly think he would stay friends with you? He obviously doesn't like the situation or agree with it.  And don't take facebook too seriously, its an internet site. If the two of you aren't together, there is no reason for you two to be friends on facebook and him blocking you is his immature way of ignoring stuff. Obviously he hasn't grown up yet. I agree with getting a lawyer or at least going to the state or county about child support. They will definitely help you out. Goodluck.

  • I would just go find some free legal help (many courthouses have legal clinics for people needing free legal help with custody/ divorce/ etc) and file the paperwork yourself with the courts. Getting a lawyer is expensive and the paperwork isn't too bad to do yourself. Just make sure you have the free legal help people help you every step of the way when you need their help. This stuff can be confusing. You'll usually have to do mediation and then finalize everything in court after that.

  • Also... Be thankful that he blocked & ignored you instead of being mean..

My BD emailed me saying "if you are expecting child support you better be getting a DNA test and when you have to pay for it, because it comes back negative, I'm going to be laughing" as well as " I am not able to have children" (which obviously ISNT true because.. well, I'm pregnant!) He is scared and acting dumb because he doesn't want to be responsible for himself...

    UGH.. never again!

I'm sorry you have to go through similar situations... I'm planning on going to the courthouse soon to get legal information, I hope you do too!

  • I agree with this completely. A lawyer is a necessity. Even if you think he won't get a lawyer, don't be surprised when his mother or father will cough up money for a lawyer to protect their interests.

My cousin lost contact with a woman he knocked up while separated from his ex-wife because he went back to his ex-wife. He didn't think a lawyer was necessary and my aunt would have paid for a lawyer. Now they have zero contact with him and my aunt even tried to see if she could have any contact as a grandmother. Nope. Unfortunately, the mother may have to have explain why she filed for full custody and never allowed my cousin to see the child (they send him Christmas gifts but have no idea whether she gives them to the child).

My other friend had a lawyer that her father partially paid for and she still lost full custody of her child to her ex who used to beat her and spent time in jail. She pays him child support now. The kids were older and purposely hid mail from the court when it was sent to the correct address (the father's lawyer sent mail to her old address she hadn't lived at for over five years), lied, threatened her, and all this stuff. Her kids were 12 and 15.  Her lawyer was furious when the paper informing them of the advocate was not sent to her but sent to my friend's old address.
