spit up

How much spit up do you let LO get on her shirt before you change her? We are out and about, and she got a couple tiny pea size spots on her shirt. Am I a bad mom if I don't change her outfit? [I hope not because I don't plan on changing her...]

Re: spit up

  • He's not a huge barfer, but I've never changed him for spit-up....only a mid day change if he gets pee/poop on himself.  Otherwise it's one outfit all day, one set of jams all night.

  • Honestly? If William spits up and it doesn't soak thru to the onesie underneath his outfit, and is a spot smaller than say, a quarter or half dollae, I will wipe him off and let it go for the day.

I was changing him every time he spit up for a while and going thru 3 or 4 outfits per day, which is a lot of laundry, and is hard on the clothes.

If he spits up a lot though, Or if it smells, i change him.

I have also started keeping a bib on him, which saves laundry.

  • If he is in the stroller/carseat he had to be a pretty big mess. If we are home then wet bigger then a quarter. However spit up in my hair equals a ponytail not a shower.

  • If its a big mess I will. If I changed her every time she spit up I'd do laundry every day. She doesn't have much to wear as of now because she's STILL in freaking NB size.

This. E has reflux though and he always has a bib on, other

wise I'd be changing him constantly. Sometimes it misses

or gets underneath the bib though.

  • She doesn't spit up super often. If we are at home I leave it be unless its an epic vomit ezplosion. Just wasn't sure what the protocol was for in public. LOL

Hells no.  I only change shirts if close to his whole chest is wet.

Ditto.  I almost never change for spit up.  If it's really wet, sometimes I'll just stick the burp cloth under her shirt and let it dry.
