At today's appointment my OB told me that I would not see my due date. He thinks that they will induce at 39 weeks if not before. That means that I only have 11 weeks left if not less. I have done everything possible to control my BP on my own but nothing has worked. It just keeps rising and the protein continues to increase. I am fine with that if that is what is best for me and the baby.
DH is freaking out as usual. He started to breath heavy almost to the point of hyperventiallation and was grabbing his chest. This should be interesting.
Re: Change of plans
Poor guy! So much for being your rock... LOL
It sounds like your OB is in tune with what your body is doing (or not doing!) despite all your best efforts. 39 weeks isn't really all that much earlier, so that's good news, if he thinks you have a chance of getting that far...
I'm sorry your DH is not handling it quite as well as you are, but I guess that's why women have the babies?

Can you even imagine if the men had to go through all of this??!! HAHA!
Like the PP said, 39 weeks isn't really all that early and you still have plenty of time to prepare and your DH has plenty of time to freak out. It will all work out I am sure.

I'm sorry to hear that, it sounds like the doc thinks you've got (or are getting) preeclampsia. I had it with my last pregnancy, although it was very mild up until I went into labor (in fact they weren't even sure I had it until then). For whatever reason, labor sent me over the edge and my blood pressure through the roof. It took about a month after the birth for my pressure to return to normal. In the meantime, I was supposed to spend most of my time lying on my left side and not moving. Yes - with a newborn! I also had to take blood pressure medication. I ended up having to stay in the hospital for 5 nights after the birth (which was labor followed by an emergency c-section) due to my blood pressure being so high. In addition to that, my daughter was in the NICU for the first 3 days and therefore I didn't even get to see her for 3 whole days! For this one, I'm considering going straight for a c-section if there are any signs of preeclampsia at all during my pregnancy.
So tell your DH that he can either accept having the baby a little early, or he can have fun with you being in the hospital for an extended period and/or not being able to move (and therefore do) much during the postpartum period. That oughtta scare him.

This made me laugh. I'm sorry your BP is not cooperating despite your best efforts, but at least you and the doc are both keeping a close eye on it so no harm will come to the baby. I hope everything goes okay right up to 39 weeks. Please do keep us updated!
