(xp from July 2012) Sorry for this being long...but hoped some of you ladies with your experience might be able to help.
At about 3m old, E's diapers turned green and mucousy. Concurrent with that, she started daycare and stopped having a dirty diaper every day, often going 2-3 days in between, and fought off a cold. She has no other symptoms of allergy. There's no blood in the diapers, she doesn't spit-up or cry/scream, she's gaining weight normally.
After about 3 weeks, I decided it hadn't been temporary and started eliminating dairy from my diet. We saw the pedi after that and he wsan't particularly concerned given the lack of other symptoms. He essentially said that with her getting older and being in daycare now, her GI tract was adjusting to new bugs.
At two weeks off dairy, we had two diapers that seemed to be returning to normal. So I stuck with it. Two weeks later (2 weeks ago) they're back to green and mucousy. I took a diaper by the pedi office and they tested negative for blood still.
Does this even sound like an allergy or should I stop worrying about it? Time to eliminate soy as well? WWYD?
