Anyone have any shoes their LO cannot get off ? My LO is always taking off his shoes and socks, constantly, and its getting old. Any suggested brands ? My LO is 21 months.
My 22 month guy does the same thing and I'm really getting tired of it. Sometimes I put him in tights and only put the shoes on once we get to our destination, but I normally just deal with it and tell myself that this too shall pass.
We let her take her shoes off. I don't even bother putting them on before getting in the car, just when we get to our destination. Unless there is a safety issue (parking lots, snow), I wouldn't really worry too much about it. It is a totally normal, developmentally appropriate stage for them to go through, because they lose a lot of sensory information they would get through their feet when they wear shoes. DD loves walking around barefoot outside the house!
For when safety doesn't allow a lack of shoes, perhaps tall boots?
Well, at least I know i am not alone! I was thinking of actual laced shoes if I can find them, but they would have to be pretty tight to not be able to get them off. I will let you all know if I find some
The only ones we have that he can't get off are lace up boots, they're not real high but higher than sneakers. We also never put shoes on him before we get where we're going because he'll either take them off or get really mad that he can't. But DS will will take his shoes off in the store/restaurant/etc. if he can.
The boots we have aren't these exactly, but they're the same kind of shape

I love Skidders but my DD manages to take them off too! I just deal with it & hope she stops doing that one day.
