I had cornbread dressing last year at a party and it was awesome!!! I tried Paula Deens recipe, followed exactly, and it was terrible. It turns out the five star ratings are from people who altered the recipe. I hate that.
Does anyone have a tried and true cornbread dressing/stuffing recipe???? I'd prefer a recipe without sausage
TIA!!!!
Re: NBR cornbread dressing/stuffing
For the cornbread:
Follow the recipe on the Jiffy corn muffin mix box.
Dressing:
1 9x13 pan cornbread
2 lg onions, chopped
4 sticks celery, chopped
1 can cream of chicken
1 can cream of mushroom
2 cans chicken broth
1/2 tsp salt and pepper
2 eggs, beaten
Crumble cornbread in large mixing bowl and mix with celery and onions. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Add enough chicken stock to be quite soupy which is necessary to be moist after cooking. Place in refrigerator overnight to season. Cook at 350 degrees for about an hour or until top is brown.
