Made my 1st batch of homemade baby food!

The boys have been on rice cereal for over a week now so I figured I'd start them on sweet potatoes.  So I made my first batch of homemade baby food and surprisingly it was so easy!!  I only used 3 sweet potatoes and it filled 40 cubes in ice cube trays.  Each ice cube is one serving and the potatoes were only $2.89!  woo hoo!

I hope the boys like them tomorrow morning!

  • That's what I made for my girls first - they loved it!  Watch out, though, b/c it stains...I did butternut squash next, which I think they love even more.  Anyway, it's fun!  Good luck:)
  • congrats!

my babies are not hear yet but I make my own applesauce, sauces, and grew up canning so I am looking forward to making their food also! good job!

  • I did sweet potatoes for the girls last week and they GOBBLED it up like baby birds.  I served it with Mott's natural applesauce and they couldn't get enough.  They seem to prefer homemade much more than pre-packaged.

  • Awesome! I'm planning on making my own baby food too. So much cheaper and healthier!

  • That is so awesome! How do you store it in the fridge? Saran wrap? How long will 40 servings last? I totally want to do this but need help!!!

    TIA!
