I'm so excited, y'all. I saw a special about it on HBO last night. Anne (haterz, go away) sounds amazing as Fantine and it looks like her performance is going to be really gritty and heart-breaking. From what I heard, Amanda does well as Cosette, Helena Bonham-Carter is a perfect Madame Thenardier, and the actress playing Eponine is reprising her role from several stage productions and is fantastic.
As for the dudes, Marius is hot and has a killer voice. I'm not super excited about Sasha Baron Cohen as Thenardier. Hugh Jackman's voice is decent but I'm used to hearing Colm Wilkinson as Val Jean so I don't think Hugh will do the role justice. And I'm pretty sure Russell Crowe is going to butcher "Stars" which is one of my favorite songs--his voice is not very strong. I didn't get a good look/listen at Enjolras which was disappointing because I lurve him in pretty much every version I've seen or listened to.

Re: Les Mis movie (musical nerds, come in)
I'm excited too! I read that the actors' singing was recorded live during filming, not lip-synced, which has me even more excited.
I watched the 25th anniversary concert the other night in anticipation. Not even Nick Jonas could ruin it for me.
I loved the girl who played Eponine and I'm so glad she's in the movie. Taylor Swift was rumored to play her, and that would have totally ruined it for me.
Unable to even.

You don't understand the appeal of Benedict Cumberbatch / think he's fug / don't know who he is? WATCH SHERLOCK. Until you do, your negative opinion of him will not be taken seriously.
I cannot stinkin' wait. UGH!
I have recently really come to like Anne Hathaway, and I think she is going to be spectacular as Fantine. Flame away.
Avery - 8.2.07 | Asher - 5.12.10 | Audrey - 11.28.12
Siggy check.
I am so excited!!! I added "I dreamed a dream," to my nighttime lullaby repertoire even though it's kinda inappropriate. My daughter was like, "what's that song?" I forced her to indulge me.
ETA: I like Russell Crowe as an action star, but I am worried he is going to sh!t all over this movie. Ugh.
It's been a musical for 15 years, dude.
Unable to even.

I grew up listening to the musical, have the sound track, love it, just didn't know the movie would be the musical version since the most recent movie version before this wasn't.
Siggy check.
I can't wait! I want to see it right NOW. I've seen the musical 3 times and I sob each time.
I really hope this movie comes close. I have high hopes.
I'm guessing her absence in the film could be due to the fact she cannot sing. All of their singing was live, so that would not work well for her...
BTW, check out my post below if you like Anne. It's a video with her and Samuel L. Jackson called It's a Sad Off...
