DD NO!

I have barricaded the christmas tree with an activity table a chair and a rocking horse to keep DD from pulling ornaments and lights off the tree. She is a determined little thing, and its driving me mad! HALP!!!!

Re: DD NO!

  • I spray the cat with water when she goes near the tree, maybe it will work with your DD ;)

  • Bwahahahaha! I'm at the point where I might just try that. Our dog hasn't even gone near the tree this year..go figure.

  • I put all of the plastic ornaments down at the bottom and let him touch them. He doesn't go after the lights. I wouldn't block it with toys though.

  • Not sure how big your tree is, but my mom used to talk about putting the tree in a playpen when we were little.

Right now our cat is not allowed to be in the living room by herself because she has taken every decoration (ornaments, poinsettas, bows, and beads) off the bottom two rows of branches.  The positive note is that she has only climbed the tree once this year, which is an improvement over last year when she was climbing the tree every chance she got.

  • DS is 4 now, so he's much better about listening when we tell him he can't touch only look. But when he was 2 (we still do this now) we got him his own little Christmas tree for his room. Nothing special, I think we spent like $30 on it. And took him to the dollar store to pick out his own ornaments and lights. Each year as a Christmas present we get him a new ornament for it. Ever since we got it he hasn't gone near our tree. He loves the idea that he has his own little tree. Oh and we even put a couple of his gifts from Santa under it. He thinks it's the best thing in the world!
