I had minor surgery at the dermatologist this morning and they had to use a local anesthetic that apparently doesn't jive well with nursing. So I've been instructed to "pump and dump" until I can feel the anesthetic wearing off, then feeding is fine again.
I EP and supplement with formula since I've never gotten my supply to match DD's demand, so to have to pump and then dump out any milk is so frustrating
To top it all off, I had to rush out the door to my morning appointment and had to stop in the middle of my morning pumping session (which generally has the highest yield), so I only got about half of what I normally do in the morning.
I just pumped again to see how much I need to throw out and I have 3 ounces - generally a full afternoon pump's worth, and I'll need to throw out another pumping session before the anesthetic wears off :-(
11am isn't too early to start drinking right? Hey, if I have to dump it anyway, that should be allowed!!
