Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Choking on bottles

My daughter is 7 1/2 months old.  She seems to be choking on her bottles all of a sudden.  I've read online that around 7 months babies loose the ability to breath and drink at the same time.  Would she be better off drinking out of a sippy cup at this stage?

Re: Choking on bottles

  • I've noticed DS breathes out of his nose now...

but you could deff introduce a sippy now...

  • Does she seem to have any congestion? When my son was sick he had a really hard time drinking his bottles, he would take 40 minutes to get through a 6 oz bottle because he was choking so badly. Even when he didn't seem very stuffed up he had a hard time until he was completely better.
