What do you think?

Just curious..

what do you think of storing breast milk in the fridge in the break room at lunch? Must it be inside a second container?

i usually just put my pumped milk in my lunch bag throughout the day. But on days like tomorrow, when I'm not bringing a lunch, it seems silly to bring an extra bag. Is it somehow impolite to keep it on its own with out covering it?

Re: What do you think?

  • My opinion is that it is a bodily fluid, and I wouldn't care to have it next to my lunch. (obviously my own milk doesn't bother me) It would be courteous to put it in a brown paper bag maybe

    I agree.

  • Keep some brown paper lunch bags in your desk at work so on days you aren't bringing a lunch, you still always have something. No one else wants to see their lunch next to boob juice ;)

  • Wouldn't bother me a bit. I keep it just in the fridge at my house and in my parent's fridge as well. But I realize that I am likely the exception to the rule.

  • Just curious, would any of you be offended by a bottle of cows milk? Why is it any different???

  • I refuse to put any bmilk or supplies in my work fridge for fear that someone would ruin it, etc.

I keep a cooler at my desk and have never had a problem with it not being cold enough.

  • I keep a lunch box in the fridge at all times -- even if it's empty.  I work at a small company, so it's not really a big deal to keep it in there.  That's where I store everything I bring for the day, just to keep it segregated from everyone else's stuff; and that's where I intend on keeping my expressed BM.  I plan on keeping the stuff to clean my BP parts in the ladies' bathroom instead of the kitchen.

If it were a bottle of cows milk that had been freshly milked, rather than a container purchased from a store, then yeah, it would weird me out too.
