So took B for her two month appt today. Doctor wants her on a tablespoon of cereal per feeding!!!!???? Wtf do I do? Also she has a heart murmur and needs an echo done Wednesday at the pediatric cardiologist

bahh humbug to stressful doctor appointments!
Re: 2 month check up, help!
She says she is eating to much. Shes 13 lbs 10ounces, 23 inches long.
Eta: she was 8lb 15oz at birth.
Right, and can't they not digest it yet!?
My mind is just blown. I think I may ignore her....is that bad?
Yeah. I think she has reflux, and I brought that up to her but she never mentioned it. Just said she is eating to many ounces per day. And to do 3 ounces formula to a tablespoon cereal?
Doesnt that sound like a lot of cereal anyone. I really don't think I'm comfortable with doing it honestly.
Fwiw DS was 9lb 3 oz at birth and weighed in today at 15lb 2 oz. They are super happy with him because he is big but staying on his curves pretty much. Look at your percentiles. If LO was 80 percentile at birth and is still 80 percentile, that's perfect! Seems to me like you'd be well within that zone.
Thank you, we are hoping it is something that will go away in time.
I formula feed because bfing didnt work out for us but I can't imagine even bottle feeding and just taking the food away. Makesme wonder if the doctors do this stuff or if our kids are just the guinea pigs....
My LO was 12lbs 10oz at two months and my doctor said it was great. She was 8lbs 2oz at birth... Weird on the cereal thing.
5-6 ounces every four hours, 6-7 hour stretches eating 3-4 ounces at night.
Dr said add cereal because he is eating 3235oz BM a day I EP. She examined if he is taking that much his tummy may be wanting more.
I don't think this is as crazy as everyone else does. I think you do whatever feels right. We will probably try after Jan 1... He turns 3mos in the 5th.
Ok I was just asking because I know it is not recommended to feed more than 32 ounes per day. Maybe that's why your pedi said to add cereal?? But in another post recently a lot of people seemed to be giving 35 to 40 ounces a day.
Yeah mine deff said a tablespoon per feeding.... Hmmm...not going to find a new pedi, she's not crazy and she has two kids under 6 so it's hard to think she's completely off her rocker. But that doesn't mean I have to feed my baby cereal yet. She has been my daughters pedi for three years and I haven't ever questioned her until now. I'm wondering if she really did suggest that much cereal for the reflux and just thought I assumed she meant that?? Who knows. Maybe I shall call and ask why so much cereal doc? Lol
