Back in the TTTC game...

It hit me that I never spoke to my doctor about taking a cycle off due to surgery. After speaking to the surgeon, it looks as though it will be a much faster recovery time than I had expected and I could probably only do 2-3 days of pain meds.   So, I made the call to the other doctors office to inquire about this cycle.  He said, if I was up to trying, he saw no reason why not to.  The surgery would not affect the follicles and it was well before ovulation.  He also bumped my dosage up to 100 mg.  I responded on 50mg, so I questioned this, but he said this was "typical" and he would recommend 100mg, but if I was more comfortable we could stay at 50mg.  He wants one more cycle of trying naturally then IUI.

 So, perhaps I'm back in the game this cycle.  What do you think I should do about hte Clomid though, has anybody ever been moved up a dosage when they responded to a lower dosage? Am I running into one of the big differences between an RE & OBGYN?

TTC since January 2012HSG & Bloodwork: Normal, SA: NormalDx: Unexplained Infertility 50mg Clomid + TI = BFN (three cycles)
50mg Clomid + trigger + IUI = BFP (one cycle)
Beta #1 (12dpo) = 49  Beta #2 (14dpo)= 149

    What was the response on the 50? How many follicles and sizes? what about your lining?

    That's awesome that you might get back in the game sooner than you thought!

    BFP on HPT 4dp5dt, Beta #1 9dp5dt: 310, Beta #2 11dp5dt: 899
    First u/s on 2/17/14: TWINS!!!!! both w/HBs of 114 at 6w3d, HBs 150 and 152 at 7w5d
    5/27/2014: Team purple!!!!  EDD 10/10/2014 / 
    Delivered by c-section at 32w0d 8/15/2014 due to preeclampsia/HELLP syndrome

    Baby Girl 3lbs 5oz, 16 inches

    Oops, sorry! Should've posted that.  I went in for the u/s on day 11 and my lining was at almost a 9 (can't remember the lining exactly) and I had two follicles one at 18 and one at 24...

    I would stick with the 50 mg since you seemed to respond well.

    September 2012: Start IF testing

    DH (32): SA is ok, slightly low morph, normal SCSA  Me (32): Slightly low progesterone, hostile CM, carrier for CF, Moderately high NKC, High TNFa, heterozyogous mutated Factor XIII, and +APA

    October 2012-May 2014: 4 failed IUIs, 3 failed IVFs, and 1 failed FETw/donor embryos

    November 2014: IVF w/ICSI #4 Agonist/Antagonist with EPP and Prednisone, Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, and IVIG for immune issues.  Converted to freeze all due to lining issues.  2 blasts frozen on day 6!

    January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues

    April 2015: FET #2.1

    I have nothing on the Clomid but that's awesome you won't miss a cycle!

    TTC #1 Since 7/2011

    Me: 30, PCOS with anovulation
    DH: 38, Low Morph & DE
    Rx: Metformin 500mg

    Cycle #1: Clomid 100mg + Ovidrel = No Response, Canceled
    Cycle #2: Clomid 150mg + Ovidrel = No Response, Canceled
    Cycle #3: Clomid 150mg + Follistim + Ovidrel = No response, Canceled

    Cycle #4: Femara 7.5mg + Gonal-f + Ovidrel + IUI = BFP!!!!

    Thats great news!! FX!

    If you are already responding well to the dose of Clomid your on DO NOT increase! You could potentionally develop too many follies which would cancel your cycle or give you an extreme increase for multiples. My last cycle was canceled due to over stimulation.. stick with what is working! GL
