THIS IS MY THREAD AND IT IS NOT ABOUT GUNS.

Today I am wrapping presents.

There were police cruisers at the kids' school when I dropped them off.  We're going to have to tell them about the shooting tonight and I don't wanna, so I'll probably bake a cake. Because cake always makes tough questions easier, I guess.

Which reminds me that my daughter got the cake pop maker for Christmas.  Refills are SEVEN DOLLARS and make FOUR CAKE POPS so now I have to come up with a homemade cake pop recipe filler - let me know if you have ideas.

Also? The baby has been walking around with my old diet coke can. She's HILARIOUS.  "Oh. Yuuuummmmmyyyyyyyyy.  Mmmmmmmmmmmm."

What is going on in your world today THAT IS NOT RELATED TO LEGISLATION OF GUNS OR ARMING TEACHERS OR OTHER SUCH SHIZZZZ.

Re: THIS IS MY THREAD AND IT IS NOT ABOUT GUNS.

  • Finally, I feel I need to tell you that the baby has begun answering "What do you want for lunch" with "PIE."
  • It costs less than $10 to make cake pops the old fashioned way.  It's also way funner for the kids.

  • Can you describe a cake pop for me? I hear people discuss this but I really had no idea what this is. Am I missing out? :(

And what kind of cake are you intending on baking tonight? I vote a red velvet cake with chocolate icing.

  • We're having cake tonight, too, for DH's birthday!

My kid napped in the car this morning at like 9:30 and now won't take a real nap. Bah.

  • I stupidly sold some stuff on ebay and am now dreading going to the post office.

I'm debating if an adult can pull off a headband w/ flower. I have these weird little short curly hairs around my face like right at the hair line and unless I flat iron every day they stick up. I hate it. Plus I wore a big purple flowery headband on saturday and looked super cute with my hair all pulled up and it in.

I bought my headband from Targets Prosti-tot collection. Buddy picked it out.

I agree.  I told her that, but she really wanted it.

    Really wanted it.

I'm thinking I'll make old fashioned cake pops and then squeeze them through the stupid-a$$ cake pop machine or something. I don't know.  Seems like a chemistry experiment worth figuring out, right?

  • Well I'm feeling good and I feel like I've beat Christmas this year! lol

I wrapped all my presents, DD has actually left them alone under the tree (yay!)

I made ornaments out of saltdough cut out like DD's hands painted them like santa and packaged them really nice with a poem and sent those off to family AND got all of my Christmas cards done and sent out as well. It was a long weekend, but I feel soooo good!!!!

I packed hospital bags for me, baby, DH and DD, super yay!!!!!!

Also DH and I went shopping without DD yesterday and managed to save 64.00 with my new love of coupon clipping! so that was pretty sweet!

all in all feeling pretty rad about my weekend!

  • The cake pop machine is also an abomination because the frosting is supposed to be mixed in with the cake.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the cake pop machine.

  • Now I want cake. And a nap.

It's really foggy here, so I may do some extra work and let DS play at daycare a bit longer, rather than going back to our small apartment.

Ds said he wanted kispies for breakfast in his room but when I went to pour milk he changed his mind and insisted on cake. We don't even have cake so we settled on yogurt.

  • I took Oliver to the Christmas program at my parent's church last night.  He sat through the whole thing like a big boy.  There was a lot of singing and dancing, so it was pretty entertaining.  I actually enjoyed it myself.

I'm super tired because after returning home from the Christmas program at about 9 pm I watched 3 episodes of "Girls" on demand with my sister.  She is getting caught up so we can watch the new season together in January.

After this week at work I'm off until January 2nd. Whoo hoo.

  • You can use regular cake mix. I think it needs an extra egg or something. I have to cake pop pan and I've used a box cake mix with a few modifications. I'll try to find the recipe I used.

Yeah my kid started doing that.

"What do you want for lunch?"

    "No, I don't want lunch. I want a snack."

"Ok, what do you want for snack?"

"Lunch. Cookie cake. couch. Oola bar."

    Fine, kid.

    Well played, Tess, well played.

    Trust me, I'm with you.

The one she got doesn't even do baking stuff - it's some dummmmaaaasssssss kid-centric "just add water" BS.

However, I found a recipe for cake mix truffles that looks like it will work, so we'll just do that and she can use it however often she desires.

  • I'm really worried about the complete previa that I was diagnosed with last week. Makes me high risk and I've just been worried.

DS sings along to songs on the radio now and I love it.

I bought a bag of cuties last night for $4 and they are so yummy!

My DH has a virus with a fever and I am terrified of getting sick while pregnant.

I have to go to the thrift store tonight to find an ugly sweater for a party tomorrow.

She's my 3rd.  She gets to do a lot of things.

Besides, she was putting it in the recycling bin for me.  I trained her - she can drink mommy's backwash *IF* she puts it in the recycling.

Also, for those in the need to know - this is the cake pop thing:

  • I forgot my pump parts in the drying rack this morning so I'm at work with sore boobs, and when I get home I'll have just enough time to iron DD1's shirt and run a comb through her hair before we have to leave for her strings concert. So I'm looking at about 8:30 before I get some relief.

  • I made cinnamon buns this morning and forgot to put the cinnamon on the first half that I did, so they got a large amount of cinnamon sprinkled on top of the buns before I put them in the oven.  We will see how they come out.

Can you maybe stop at Walmart or Target and grab a single manual pump?  Then you could take 10 minutes to pump for some relief in the parking lot, or even in the bathroom.  (Been there, done that with both)

This! My DH gave me a single hand pump as an early Christmas gift, and I keep it in my bag...it's been a lifesaver the few times I've been away from the baby! Totally worth the $40.

Mine was 20 or 25.  Definitely worth it for those rare times it was needed (shopping all day, etc).

Thanks for the suggestions, but I just realized that DD has to be at the school at 6:30, but the concert doesn't actually start until 7. I can drop her off, park then just nurse the baby in the car before I go inside.

  • We ordered Z's big Christmas present this weekend and prime shipping wasn't available for it so I am now irrationally worried that it won't get here in time. Amazon says it should be here between the 21st and the 24th. Plus it has to get put together! I have to keep reminding myself that she won't know if it is a few days late, but it still makes me worry.

Also, I still have quite a few gifts to get and Christmas pictures to take for the Christmas card and then cards to mail out. *sigh* How the hell did Christmas sneak up on me!

Also, I ordered my Elfster gift and it's about to ship and I'm freaking out that my Elfee won't like it and I'm fighting the urge to cancel and order something else. Also, I'm mad at myself for waiting so long! Gah!

  • I dislike cake pops because there is not enough cake per pop. Cake pops need to be the size of caramel apples.

We had an u/s today. I'm trying not to freak bc one baby is 3lbs while the other is 4. They said they are both in normal range but the smaller baby has a small belly. Everything else looks good. They'll keep an eye on them. I'm also confused bc they seem to think A is B after 31 weeks. Molly is talking more and it's hilarious she's saying Money for her name and has a book called Fuzzy Bee she says Fuddy Dee. She's also in love with Kermit, H framed a picture of him for her. She keeps screaming Kerme and looking at him like this image

OMG that is too stinkin' cute!
