Re: Moms' Check-in! 12/17

  • I finally caught the posting on the right day this week!

    1. How many kids and ages?

    DS age 3

     2. How was your weekend?

it was very nice. My baby brother's baby girl had her first birthday party saturday.  DS was the official present-opening-helper to the birthday girl, and he LOVED it!

    2. Anything special/endearing/milestone-ish happen lately?

I suspected that he could count to 10 in Spanish, but he wouldn't do it for us! We finally bribed him with a cup cake from the birthday party and he did it for us perfectly! It was super cute, but probably wouldn't have been a big deal if he hadn't been hiding his talent from us ;-)

    3. Any parenting concerns on your heart or mind this week?

This week was good. My only concern was seeing him with my cousin at the party. DS is SO TALL. Taller and older looking than the other kid by far, and he speaks very well. Cousin is 5 and DS is 3.5, but people were expecting the same level of patience from him that they were his cousin! I find that this is a common theme with him unfortunately. People keep asking me why he isn't in school when we go places during the week :-(

    5. Question of the Week: Stealing the WTA check-in question. ;-)  Are you taking time off for the holidays? What about DH/SO?

DH was out of town for 2.5 weeks, and had to miss Thanksgiving. He had saved up his vacation time this year incase we got a "THE CALL," which we didn't, so he took the REST of the year off! We are having a lot of fun!!

  • 1. DD, will be 3 in March

    2. Started off OK. Got our tree and DD got to help decorate. It was a lot of fun. But DH got in a mood the rest of the week and it threw me off.

    3. DD, the extrovert, has decided at times that she's shy. It's endearing and hysterical at the same time. She'll announce, "I'm shy", and 5 minutes later is the ringleader of a group of kids

    4. No real parenting concerns. Things have gone well for the most part this week

    5. As a SAHM there is no time off ;) DH's last day of the year is Friday

  • 1. How many kids and ages? 1 DD, 12 weeks old

     2. How was your weekend?  It was great, but busy.  DH got home Friday evening from his work trip to Europe and it was wonderful having him back, but I accumulated quite the "to do" list while he was gone.  At least I felt accomplished!

    2. Anything special/endearing/milestone-ish happen lately? I have all sorts of "moments."  I think everything happened so fast that I didn't really have time to process, but now it's all sinking in.  I was laying on the couch with DD on my lap and I looked up at her stocking on our fireplace...felt this rush of emotion.  This happens to me all the time..looking at her ornament on the Christmas tree, reading old posts, looking through her baby book, etc.

    3. Any parenting concerns on your heart or mind this week? She has been so strong from day 1, but part of me is slightly concerned that her upper body strength has kind of come to a halt and maybe we need to have her on her tummy more often. Other times, I don't have any concern so chances are she's completely fine.

    5. Question of the Week: Stealing the WTA check-in question. ;-)  Are you taking time off for the holidays? What about DH/SO? DH will be taking 8 work days off so I'm very excited..unfortunately a lot of that time is going to be travel to Louisiana to spend time with his side of the family..so it'll be very hectic.  I hope towards the end, we can get back home early and just enjoy our time together in our own home.  I am a SAHM so no work outside the home for me this Christmas!
